What is blepharoplasty?

How should I prepare for blepharoplasty?

Prior to blepharoplasty, it’s important to follow your doctor’s pre-procedure instructions. Stop taking certain medications, don’t smoke for several weeks before surgery, and arrange for someone to drive you home after the procedure. 

Before the procedure, your surgeon takes eyelid photographs from different angles to properly plan your surgery to achieve the best outcome.

What happens during the procedure?

What should I expect after blepharoplasty?

After blepharoplasty, have a friend or family member drive you home. Follow your post-surgery instructions and keep your eyelids clean. 

Recovery time is short, but you might experience temporary swelling and bruising while you heal. Downtime after blepharoplasty is about a week, so avoid strenuous activity until your surgeon gives you the okay.
